With just a few short weeks left until they tie the knot, I met up with Brianna & Joe in Marcellus for their engagement session last night. I haven't spent much time in that area, but I was pleasantly surprised with how kind all of the people in their community were. Everyone was very friendly and stopped to say hello. (I am not exactly used to that!)
We met up in the park in walking distance to their apartment complex for their shoot - and their pup, Bilbo, even tagged along! they were both so comfortable having their photo taken, and eventually forgot that I was even there. I am definitely looking forward to their wedding at the Tailwater Lodge in September! Until then, you will just have to enjoy their engagement session.
Sarah & Sean are married!!! These two caught the perfect weather up in Oswego at the beginning of July this year. I met up with Sarah and the girls at Running With Scissors (awesome name, right?) so that they could get their hair and makeup done. Finally, we headed to the house that Sarah grew up in so that the girls could get ready before we headed to the church to get these two married! Sarah & Sean's family and friends absolutely packed the chapel at the Church of the Resurrection in Oswego for their ceremony.
Following our quick family and bridal party photo session, Sarah & Sean were welcomed into the Oswego Elk's lodge to a roaring applause before a gorgeous plated dinner. Their band, Allegro, played some awesome tunes to get the party going, and kept everyone dancing for the rest of the night! Congratulations you two!
A side note- I headed out to New Hampshire, where Sarah & Sean current live and work, for their engagement photos last summer. This was my first time meeting the couple, and I was greeted with a warm welcome from both of them. Sarah even had a care package all ready for me to make my stay easier. Take note, future brides & grooms - she packed me: water, Kind bars, Advil, M&M's, Belvita snacks, gum, almonds, and a multitude of other goodies... Thanks!!! .... We shot at 7 different locations, and even had lunch, dinner & coffee together. All in all it was an awesome trip!

Erin & Matt picked the perfect venue for their family and friends to enjoy a beautiful wedding day celebration. They decided on the West Branch Angler Resort in Hancock, NY, which is along the Delaware River and is the perfect destination for any avid fisherman. When I arrived, Erin and Matt were relaxing on the deck of their cabin, overlooking the Delaware River and eating their breakfast before they got ready for their day. Matt took off to get ready with his guys and Erin started to get her makeup done. Seemingly more fun than getting their hair and makeup done, Matt and the guys took advantage of the shooting range that the resort offers. Watching the guys shoot clays was definitely an entertaining start of the day!...... "Meanwhile, back at the ranch" .... I mean, back at the cabin, the girls were putting their finishing touches on their hair and makeup before heading off for Erin & Matt's first look.
Mr. & Mrs. Snedaker tied the knot in the shade of a beautiful pergola in front of all of their guests. They moved the party to the deck for cocktail hour, and then inside for a delicious dinner accompanied by a few emotional toasts. Naturally, the only time that it rained the entire day, was the five minutes that it took for the wedding party to make their way to the tent on the lawn for introductions. Matt's former band teacher is a member of a killer local band, Splash, which was providing the entertainment for the night. They kept the dance floor full, and the party going all night long. We even caught an awesome sunset on the river for a few evening portraits!

I have known Terri & Kenny for almost longer than I can remember - to the point that Kenny & I went to each other's birthday parties in elementary school. We were in the same group of friends in high school and graduated together as well! As life happens, we lost touch for a few years until I received a message from Terri, telling me that her and Kenny had gotten engaged. They were planning a wedding weekend with their closest family and friends at their favorite inn, in Rockland, Maine. I am pretty sure that she never actually asked if I was available or wanted to shoot their wedding - she actually told me the date and that I would be there shooting it!
Of course I said yes, and then took the trip up to Maine! The Inn that they chose, was the most amazing place that I have ever stayed at. Every single detail of the Berry Manor Inn was carefully planned and executed perfectly. In all three beautiful buildings on the property, there are at least two types of fresh pie and vanilla ice cream at any given time. Every day at 7 am, there would be fresh coffee and orange juice on every floor. And the most delicious breakfast that you could imagine began at 8. The owners, Cheryl & Mike, were absolutely amazing hosts, cooks, event coordinators, people herders, bride calmers, etc etc.
Their ceremony took place on the porch of the Inn's main building in front of 30 of their closest family and friends that took the trip to Rockland from all over. Terri & Kenny's guests made their way to the Talbot House (next door) to celebrate the new couple for the entire night. Judging by how late the guests showed up to breakfast the next morning, it is clear that EVERYONE had fun!

I always love when family and friends get ahold of me to shoot their weddings. My cousin Jill and her fiancé, Ted, contacted me earlier this spring for their February 2018 wedding, and asked if I would be part of their day. I absolutely accepted, and we began plans to schedule their engagement session. Getting to spend a bit of time with them at our initial meeting and their engagement session, I clearly saw that Ted treats her extremely well, and is a great addition to the family! I have no doubt that their wedding this winter will be a fantastic day!
